The Land
There is a cherry tree plantation of 500 trees which takes up 2,8 hectares of the total of 8 Hectares. The cherries can be sold to generate a yearly yield. Marateca Dam
The property borders directly with the Marateca Dam, also known as Barragem de Santa Agueda and is situated on the Ocreza river. The Marateca Dam is an irrigation and industrial water dam which supplies the water for, among others, the city of Castelo Branco.

It has a height of 25 m above the foundation (24 m above the natural terrain) and a crest length of 1054 m (and thickness of 7.6 m). The volume of the dam is 435,000 m³. It has a maximum discharge capacity of 15.25 (bottom discharge) + 60 (flood discharger) m³/s. The dam’s reservoir has a floodable surface at the NPA (Full Storage Level) of 6.34 km² and has a total capacity of 37.2 Mio. m³ (useful capacity of 32.7 Mio. m³). The water levels in the reservoir are: NPA of 385 meters, NMC(Maximum Flood Level) of 385.5 meters and NME (Minimum Exploration Level) of 375.5meters.

Watersports can be executed on the water, as long as it is with electric engines.

The area around the dam is rich of flora and fauna. On the property itself there is a nest of storks just next to the house. Next to storks there are also ducks, mainly mallard and beaded duck, coots, grebes, cormorants and herons. During spring, the black kite and booted eagle are frequent. The osprey and the golden kite can appear during the winter.
