Description - Descrição - Beschrijving
Pine Hill consists of 6,600 m2 of land comprised of gently sloping pine forest and four level, sun-filled agricultural terraces.
Land is registered for two 30m2 agricultural buildings (both are undersized). One acting as a tool shed and the second has been renovated into a small “house” (3m x 4.5m) with shower setup, waste drain and wood stove. The property is ideal for a caravan, RV, earthbag construction, yurt, tipi or other temporary building.
The terraces have numerous garden beds producing food and flowers along with young and mature fruit trees. Well-established olive, plum, apple and pear trees are together with a smattering of younger and diverse offerings (orange, lemon, lime, fig, etc.). Many grapes. There are no mimosa or eucalyptus trees on this holding.
There are two entrances with year-round 2wd access. Two productive wells and two 1000 litre water tanks. 6000 litre water tank at the back of the property. In-ground refrigerator!
Ideal for solar.
Actively improving soil quality. The land had sat untouched for many years. No chemicals have been used here.
Birds frequent the spot, owls are in the distance and have had occasional visits by Pine Martens.
Much of my equipment and tools are available by negotiation.
The property is surveyed and the deed is clean. Property lines well defined.
With sunny exposure and pleasant shade, Pine Hill is conveniently located while remaining private. A short drive to Tábua for services, 10km to Oliveria do Hospital, 52km to Viseu and 60km to Coimbra, 45minutes to Serra da Estrela, 1 hour from ocean. Tábua is not the largest town you’ll ever visit but certainly nice to have. It boasts free internet almost everywhere, has a Lidl and Intermarché, a good building supply centre, health services, public pool, a very good city-run gym and offers free language classes. It has a nice expat coffeehouse, Sunday markets offering all you need including seedlings and a bio grocery. A town where you’ll find expats but it is still real Portugal.
